Nerd alert!

We went to our 3rd Comic-Con this year, and as always, it failed to disappoint. I so enjoy the people watching, it really is an excuse for 50,000 people to let their inner freak out and it's fantastic to watch that all unfold.
We lined up early because the only panel we we really wanted to see this year was the LOST panel...people had even camped out the night before! Wowza, those are some fans.

Took a picture with a fake Hurley...
but when we were in the panel was saw the real one along with some of the rest of the cast and the two producers. We scored some great hints and teasers.

The rest of the day, we just roamed around the halls of crazy, and saw tons of fun stuff.

Stargate sucked us in:
Rob knows kung-fu. Whoa.

I don't know what it is about Storm Troopers, but there was a plethora. Check out these little guys:
Rob with some bloody ones:And we even saw a storm trooper Elvis! Brilliant!
We saw a bunch of famous people this year. Danny DeVito is actually tinier in real life than you would think!
Big Mike from Chuck actually turned out to be not-so-big in real life.
We met the comedian Paul Sheer, who is so hysterical - he was really sweet to stop for a pic.The highlight of the day was seeing Jon Heder. I ran after him like a stalker and we were super bummed that only a blurry pic turned out...
...but then about 30 minutes later when we met up with the rest of our group, we saw him again! LUCKY!

As always, there's plenty of fun stuff and people to see - we had such a blast. Rob looks pretty stoked here. Can't imagine why.Mo and I with some zombie slayer getting nibbled on.

Who knew Chewy had such bad teeth?

Creepy joker dude.

You look like the 4th of July, it makes me want a hot dog real bad!

So, I'm posting pics from the 4th of July. On the 23rd of July. Don't judge me. :)

Rob and I went to the fair this year on the 4th and thought we were crazy for doing so, we expected it to be super packed...but it wasn't! We had such a great day - you know how we love the fair! We first took a pedi-cab ride in from the parking lot, that was as fun as any ride:

I love the fair for my food cheat day on all the horribly disgusting fried and fatty foods:

Fried mac 'n cheese balls? Why, yes please! Why didn't I think of those?
Here Rob enjoys our fried pickles and pork sandwich (2 separate items, not all-in-one, ew) next to the cutest old guy dressed to the nines.

Then of course we hung out with the animals. The petting zoo is one of my favorite things to do.

I loved this little piggy sheep (and by that I mean he wanted all the food, not that he was a crazy hybrid new breed of sheep-pig). He was the sweetest, so he got most of my food.

Of course we had to do our annual photo booth picture - it's our 5th one, we have them all lined up on our fridge like some sort of Warrenski retrospective. But is it art?

And finally, we were our usual dorky selves...what a great day!

POW #31 the "What happens in Vegas" edition

I have been horribly neglectful of the picture o' the weeks and I realized I hadn't posted one in a few months! I've said it before, how dare my actual life get in the way of my online life?

Well, anyhoo. We are literally counting down the days until we renew our vows in Vegas with Elvis and a bunch of loved ones....August 14th is coming soon! We absolutely can't wait and think it'll be the moment of a lifetime.

We stole *ahem, borrowed* this idea from good friends of ours, Holly and Pat, who did this for THEIR anniversary a few years ago and we thought it was the greatest idea. We had such a blast with them and now, here we are doing the same thing 8 something years later! This picture is us outside of their ceremony, all dressed in our rockstar fabulousness....LOVE IT.

Anchorage!

We got to Anchorage super early in the morning after we dropped Mom off at the airport...I guess that's the bonus of 24/7 daylight is you can walk around a city at 5 AM and feel super safe! We spent the last 2 days of our trip there and had an amazing time together. First, we checked out some sights before heading to breakfast.

We ate at the Snow City Cafe after several locals recommended it...it was so good we actually went both mornings we were there! The first morning we tried their snow crab omelettes with salmon cakes...slurp!
Then we wanted to keep up our energy - a nap at that point would have just set us over the edge - so we decided to rent some bikes for 3 hours and see the trail around the Cook Inlet.

The bike ride along the coastal trail was GORGEOUS!!! Some parts were absolutely quiet and serene, not a soul around. It snaked through some beautiful, lush forests and then popped you back out at the water's edge. It was a perfect day, really mild temperatures and super sunny - perfect day for a bike ride!

We even saw a Mom and baby moose at one point - couldn't catch a shot of the baby except it's little wiggling ears...we made sure to stay on our bikes just in case Mama got mad at us and charged at us but she was perfectly content to munch on some leaves.

Here I am on the trail:

Rob showing off his funky bike riding moves:

After riding our bikes for hours,we figured out we'd gone about 18 miles so we both had the jimmy-legs and needed to walk around and stuff our faces. It just so happened to be Alaska's 5oth anniversary of becoming a state so there was a huge street fair in celebration. We roamed around and took in all the sights...

...and made some friends with some locals...

...and of course had to sample some local food. Our salmon quesadillas were finger lickin' good, they were amazing!

For dinner we hit the Crows Nest at the top of our hotel, the Captain Cook. What gorgeous views there were up there! Plus, we met a really sweet older couple who live in Anchorage now to be near their grandchildren but were actually from San Diego 30 years ago. They were great to talk to. My mojito could have parted my hair, it was so strong, but the dinner was fantastic. I'm just going to say it, lobster and truffle oil mac and cheese? I mean, seriously? Yes, please, get in my belly.
And what better way to wrap up a wonderful Alaska vacation then to pig out on desserts...

....and go on a horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Anchorage late at night. Well, 11:00 at night, anyway. It was still light out, but the concept was there.

It was so fun and romantic! Goodbye Alaska, you served us well!
