Birthday Fun...

I'm a week behind on blogging, but that's always pretty indicative of good times. Last weekend was my birthday and it was such an excellent shove into my mid-30's, ha! Rob threw a pool party for me at our new little rental and we had a blast. We might as well soak up that kicking pool cabana while we have it...it's legit.

We stayed up the night before making "Pete's Poppers", a factor-line production that would make any sweat shop owner envious. These poppers are truly one of the most delicious things ever - a half a jalapeno (de-seeded lest you make your intestines hate your guts {no pun intended, but still brilliant, if I do say so myself} and leap out of your body as if on strike) with cream cheese in the middle, wrapped in bacon and BBQ'd until brown, creamy, salty goodness. I think I just drooled on my keyboard a little bit.

The day of the pool party was glorious and we had a great time.

Of course the birthday girl got some balloons - Robbio sure knows how to pamper a girl.

I may be biased, but I loved my birthday poster:
And of course, kicking it with my friends is the best gift ever:

Rob was the day's grillmeister, we all bow down in reverence to your poppers and burgers.
Some misc shots:

I love how Bennett always gets passed around, clearly that little dude is never going to suffer a poor self-esteem or feel neglected.

So, as one of my steps in the 12 step Mrs. Fields addiction support group, I am forced - Yes, FORCED - to buy a big ol' cookie cake once a year and stuff myself senseless into diabetesville. Don't judge, unless you join the group and are taught the secret handshake, you don't get to know the deliciously evil 12 steps. They're truly fantasticly evil and at this point, the only reason to even have birthdays (other than to celebrate the "x" anniversary of my 29th birthday, of course). Slurp!
A very happy day and a very happy birthday, for sure!

Code name: HARD HAT

There's been some progress on our new house! So, it's just trenching, but still, it's something that warranted...wait for it...hard hats! Very exciting stuff.

First, here's us modeling our hard hats. I can't even begin to express how nerdy excited I was that mine was pink.
And here's our house, isn't it lovely? :) There's just a grated driveway and some holes dug in the ground, but still, its OUR ground, sooooo exciting!!!

And here's the 'hood with all the new rules:

It's all happening. Foundation is supposed to be poured here in the next few weeks and they're still estimating that we'll be in by November! How fun will it be to spend our first Christmas in our new house?

Perfect day for a BBQ

Last weekend our friends Jason and Tara had a BBQ - Tara's brother and girlfriend were out visiting from Florida with their new puppies and it was glorious weather, perfect day for a BBQ! Although, frankly, we don't really ever need an excuse to get together, but sunny days and cute puppies works for me. Here's Tara and Greg with Lady - isn't she adorable?

Luckily the other dogs got some attention, too. Don't worry, nobody is really that neglected around here.

Greg and Claudia are lucky I didn't abscond with a puppy, I was super tempted but we need another puppy right now like we need a hole in the head. But these guys were such little loves! They made my puppy biological clock tick like mad.

I mean, seriously, could you just melt?

As always, good times!!!
