Palm Springs is the place to be!

My good friend Sarah turned 30 last weekend in style - we went to Palm Springs for a girls getaway and had an absolute BLAST! My friend Holly's friend Kirk works at the fancy-pants Rivera Hotel there and hooked us up like the rockstars we are. :) He got us the big presidential suite (that Paris Hilton had stayed at the weekend before, seriously!) and two junior suits nearby - we were living in luxury. Our suite was right off the pool which lent itself to some awesome people watching and tanning extraordinaire plus for one of the days we had a rockin' pool cabana.

It was so much fun to hang with all the fun girls, laugh a ton, eat copious amounts of fabulous food, have some cocktails and get next to no sleep! What a blast but I tell you what, it's taken me days to recover - darn it, how old am I?

First night was fantastic sushi and then out to a club:

At sushi, our weekend nicknames were revealed - too funny. Here we go around and say our names.

The dancing fools that we are:

Our cabana came with misters thank GOD 'cause let's be honest, it's a tad hot there. Here, Holly, Carol and Sarah channel their inner pin-up girls.

Me and the birthday girl getting our tan on!

My friend Holly was brilliant with all her party planning. Here's all of us in our "XXX" (30, for those non math-majors out there, hollar!) shirts for the weekend on our suite pool patio.

And Kim and I fashion all our party favor shwag...

The second night we went to thai food then hung in our swanky hotel bar/lobby and danced ourselves silly again. Plus, the people watching was fantastic!

And of course no girls weekend would be complete without some spa time:

Good time, good times. Happy Birthday Sarah, I adore you!!!

We're an Auntie and Uncle...again!!!

Introducing to the world - our brand new adorable niece Annaleigh Sophia! She was born April 24th up in Alaska and should be home by now. My poor brother and sister in law were separated by many many miles - my brother was stuck in the Middle East and unable to get back in time for the birth. But luckily Jen has a lot of friends supporting her and Chris should be able to get home by today. We plan to go visit them in June - isn't she so sweet? Can't wait to hold her and love on our OTHER niece Abby - who apparently is already an amazing big sister. Enjoy!

That sweet face, it doesn't get better than that!!!

Day 2 of the birthday weekend spectacular...

...was spent at Disneyland! Didya know you can get in free now on your birthday? 'Cause you can. That's right. Rob and I had a great day - it got a little iffy in the middle only because it was literally in the high 90's that day and we started MELTING but once we regrouped during an inside lunch and all was well.

When you go on your birthday, you get a cool birthday pin and all day long people wished me a happy birthday, it was pretty fun! I've literally only known one other person with my same birthday (I'm looking at you, Hayden the amazing godson of ours) so it was pretty fun to meet lots of other people who share the same big day.

We hadn't gone just by ourselves in years, it was such a different experience to go without kids. We mostly did the "big kid" rides, but of course we had to do a few old favorites as well.

Astro Blasters:

Matterhorn:

Honey, I Shrunk something or other:

Of course there was some crazy driving:

I actually don't think I'd ever been over to Davey Crockett's island, it was kinda fun to explore over there.
Splash Mountain was the saving grace once the temperature hit 98 degrees. It was fantastic to get soaking wet and the funniest part is we dried in about 30 minutes, ha!

This was right before my hat flew off and hit Rob in the face, plus this picture is so cute - look poor little Snow White is PETRIFIED right behind us:

I'll have you know, we've been to Disneyland so many times and never met the big guy. No, not Walt Disney's frozen head. The OTHER big guy. I'm pretty sure they brought him out just for my birthday. :)

I turned 29! Again!

It was my birthday last weekend and I had such a great time. I've decided, turning 33 is pretty cool - I have a feeling it's going to be an amazing year. My birthday started off fabulously - Rob surprised me with roses delivered to my work a few days early - they were gorgeous! There's nothing like smelling beautiful flowers while talking to a client with delusions that everyone's out to get them, it's a nice diversion, I'll just say.

It turned out to be a bday of flowers, I got some gorgeous daisies from my friends Leigh and Kevin and some hyacinths from Karen and Alex - gorgeous!

On Saturday we met for a cocktail

then went out to my favorite sushi place - I think we've gone to Yummy Sushi so much we're pretty much responsible for putting the owner's kids through college. But it's delicious...one might say, Yummy in fact, and totally worth it.

Pigging out:

At the end of the night, the owners and waiters came and sang to me and made me wear the scary lice-hat (I'm such a germaphobe, I can't help but wonder how many people have freakin' worn this thing, but oh well, it's worth it). Even Rob has pimped the hat in the past. Good times. Rob also surprised me with a cookie-cake from Mrs. Fields - I can't help it, I love them.

On a whim after dinner we decided to go bowling - a nice way of working off our "food babies" and a better alternative than a carb-loaded nap. Too funny, I hadn't bowled in a long time and we had a blast.

Love those bowling shoes - the girls had to stop off at a Rite Aid to buy socks and I have to say, the naughty bunnies were a nice touch:
Everybody had their wicked bowling moves, quite impressive:
The music was great, I got a little over exuberant at one point and I didn't even realize the camera was on me until the end. And I'll have you know - I was completely sober. I swear. This video cracks me up, I'm truly the biggest dork I know.

What a great night - good times!

Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks...no, really.

We went to a Padres/Giants game today and it was so much fun, not only because we won 6-1 but also because we had the most rockstar seats! Rob had gotten them from work and we were in the 2nd row right next to 3rd base, it was fabulous.
I don't remember ever sitting that close to the field before, plus it was pretty cool to be that close to one of our fave players, 3rd baseman Kouzmanoff. Kooooooooooooooooooooooooozzzzzzzzz! I could have pinched his tushie we were so close. But, I restrained myself, of course.

It was pretty funny to have to be so vigilant about each and every hit - we were totally in the foul ball zone and watched a poor guy get absolutely nailed in the chest by a wicked hit. Ouch!

At one point we actually made it on the jumbo tron! We've never been on there before, and of course they caught us boogying, it was pretty funny. Of course we have no photo documentation of said jumbo tron famousness, but you'll just have to believe us. Ironically enough, our DOG has actually been on the Padres jumbo tron but this was our first crack at it. Good work, Galileo.
And of course, no game would be complete without the huge giant footlong hot dog and all the munchies. Hey, I ran 5 miles today for my marathon training, so don't judge. Slurp!
