Second sleeps

In Galileo's old age, he's started doing this adorable thing where he sleeps in as long as humanly (er, doggedly?) possible with whoever is left in bed, but once the last person gets up, he finally does too....and then promptly goes downstairs to his bed for what we've dubbed Second Sleeps.

It's a freakin' riot. While we're bustling around the kitchen getting coffee and breakfast ready, our old guy is snoring away. I call this one: Look, Ma, no face! And you know what happens after 2nd sleeps and breakfast?

Third sleeps.
And then comes guarding the house for about 5 or so minutes thrown in there so Mom and Dad don't accuse me of freeloading. And then, you guessed it, yet more sleeps.

More celebrating!

Our second wedding of the weekend last weekend was Dave and Takako's and it was lovely and low-key. We're so thrilled for them. It was such a beautiful ceremony and amazing dinner - french food at the Palmplemousse Grill... le slurp, for sure! I fully admit, I have a serious case of camera envy so I've shamelessly stolen all of Paige's pics from the night...you'll see why at the end - isn't she an amazing photographer?Dave and Takako did a really brief ring exchange since they had done a full Japanese ceremony while visiting Takako's family in Japan earlier this year. This reception was such a special blending of both of their cultures, it truly was such a symbolic and beautiful start to their lives together, it was really neat.Of course it didn't hurt that the food was AMAZING! Dinner started off with a phenomenal seafood sampler platter and arrived on a rotating serving tray over dry ice, so it made a super dramatic entrance...very Halloween :)At the end of the meal was amazing desserts, and Dave and Takako had their traditional wedding cake for themselves. It was really cute, they had painted the cake toppers to look more like them - Dave had added grey to the guy's hair and Takako had turned her girl from a blond to a more Japanese look, hysterical! One of the coolest parts of the night was they had everyone go around and introduce themselves and give a toast. At first everyone was pretty nervous but it actually turned out to be really amazing - to meet everyone, hear everyone's stories of how they knew the couple, again see all the beautiful diversity, etc. Needless to say there was some boohoo'in. Namely from this girl. Damn it, I suck at the wedding speech, I always cry! You can see me bringing out the waterworks as we speak (and Dave's older uncle was clearly moved by my words, ha!):
Some random shots of the night:

Is it vain of me to say, I love this pic of us?
More group pics of the old gang with our newest member, welcome to our group, Takako - we're thrilled you're in our lives! Congratulations, Dave and Takako, it's wonderful to see you both so happy.Oh, and here's the comparison shot with our camera, wah wah wah:

Take us to the Betty!

We had two-count 'em TWO weddings this weekend and we had such an amazing time! Needless to say we overindulged quite a little bit, so we're going to need a week at the Betty Ford and Overeaters Anonymous to detox...and then we'll be all better.

The first wedding on Friday was our friends Dustin and Jessica and we've been looking forward to their marriage for a long time, we are so thrilled for them! They got married on the beach in Mission Bay at sunset and it was gorgeous! It couldn't have been more perfect: the weather was warm, we danced non-stop on the beach under the moonlight...more on that later.

We all stayed at the hotel which of course added to the fun, here's us getting ready in our room while we're still looking halfway sober and decent. Because oh-boy does that change quickly!
I'm so bummed, this shot looks awesome but I blame the blurriness on our drunk next door neighbors that took it :)

A few shots of the ceremony then we're off to the reception!
Dustin's son Tanner - super cute dude.
Thank you Dustin and Jessica, for seating us all together! It was a risky choice since we can be lunatics but we had an absolute blast. I always enjoy how "Two Drink Lisa"'s inner west-side hood rat always comes out and flashes her signs...
Trouble:
And then the dancing fools came out....
Now I realized why my foot hurt so much the next day: This is one of my fave shots of the night:
The bonus of always being the sober photographer? I get to capture gems like this!

Thanks again Dustin and Jessica - it was seriously such a beautiful wedding and we're so thrilled for you guys!!!
