More celebrating!

Our second wedding of the weekend last weekend was Dave and Takako's and it was lovely and low-key. We're so thrilled for them. It was such a beautiful ceremony and amazing dinner - french food at the Palmplemousse Grill... le slurp, for sure! I fully admit, I have a serious case of camera envy so I've shamelessly stolen all of Paige's pics from the night...you'll see why at the end - isn't she an amazing photographer?Dave and Takako did a really brief ring exchange since they had done a full Japanese ceremony while visiting Takako's family in Japan earlier this year. This reception was such a special blending of both of their cultures, it truly was such a symbolic and beautiful start to their lives together, it was really neat.Of course it didn't hurt that the food was AMAZING! Dinner started off with a phenomenal seafood sampler platter and arrived on a rotating serving tray over dry ice, so it made a super dramatic entrance...very Halloween :)At the end of the meal was amazing desserts, and Dave and Takako had their traditional wedding cake for themselves. It was really cute, they had painted the cake toppers to look more like them - Dave had added grey to the guy's hair and Takako had turned her girl from a blond to a more Japanese look, hysterical! One of the coolest parts of the night was they had everyone go around and introduce themselves and give a toast. At first everyone was pretty nervous but it actually turned out to be really amazing - to meet everyone, hear everyone's stories of how they knew the couple, again see all the beautiful diversity, etc. Needless to say there was some boohoo'in. Namely from this girl. Damn it, I suck at the wedding speech, I always cry! You can see me bringing out the waterworks as we speak (and Dave's older uncle was clearly moved by my words, ha!):

Is it vain of me to say, I love this pic of us?
