Winery concert

My friend Karen's uncle is Kris Kristofferson and we were fortunate enough to get to go to his concert this weekend at a winery in Temecula! UNFORTUNATELY, Rob was looking forward to this for a long time (and brushing up on his Kris movies and music) and ended up getting a really nasty flu bug. Poor guy has been miserable for the last few days, but he wanted me to go ahead to the concert anyway without him. This is how I felt to be without my love that night:

It was such a beautiful setting, outside under the stars and surrounded by the vineyards. Speaking of the vineyards, when we first got there, we took a wrong detour and ended up walking down some completely dark vineyard path - we were in hysterics having to use my camera flash as light...it seemed like how a really scary movie might start (attack of the killer Gewurztaminer!)

The concert itself was really special - it was just Kris up there with his guitar, it was such a mellow night. Baby Bennett seemed to LOVE the music, he was dancing and so happy all night long. Here he is with Kris' wife, Lisa:

We thought about Rob the whole time and were hoping he wasn't doing anymore of this:

After the concert, it was really cool - I got to meet Kris for a couple of minutes. He seemed really tired after performing so I didn't ask him for a picture. But this is how it would have worked in my mind (and can you tell who here doesn't have any sort of background in graphic design? haha!):

And Bennett did a great job being a "stand in date" for Uncle Rob, he even held my hand the whole way home.
