Didya miss 'em? No? Well, too bad. Here's a house update, just the same. Last weekend when it was 80 degrees and glorious, we did some long-overdue gardening and here's some pics of our endeavors.
Yah, not my best blogging work, but they're not all going to be Oscar winners, now are they?
Rob worked his butt off ripping out the carpet roses...those things were freaking deadly!

In the interim, Galileo sunbathed.

We replaced them with
Lancanas, which are gorgeous, flowering creeping plants.

Meanwhile, Galileo observed.

Trimming, mulching, fertilizing, blah blah blah...

And we planted some new stuff in the back, this beautiful pear blossom tree (
yah, he's just a little guy now, but eventually he should be big, don't tell him any Charlie Brown Christmas stories, please).

We also took out a dead bush of some unknown type and put in some awesomely smelling lavender...reminds me of southern
france!
Zut Alore!

Meantime, Galileo enjoyed his chaise lounger:

And finally, Gnome update: our poor
Gnorbert is so old and faded, but steadfastly still guarding the backyard from evildoers. Let's be honest, though, he's such an old guy now the best he could probably do is pull a "why I
oughta" and then collapse in an
emphysema coughing fit or break a hip or something. Holding his old faded book and lantern, he looks like an HOA president or Neighborhood Watch captain from the 1800's. So, needless to say,
Gnorbert needed some backup.

And that backup is....please to meet...Chuck
Gnorris! I painted him myself, isn't he cool? If you were a vermin or a bad guy or some evildoer with nefarious intentions, wouldn't you be instantly pacified?

In retrospect, I'm quite proud of this blog post. So there.
