The U.S. Open

So, when Rob's Dad, Brother and Sister in law to be (whew, that's exhausting to say) were here, we treated everybody to the US Open. As most of you probably know, the Open was here in San Diego this year (first time EVER!) at Torrey Pines Golf Course, so it was a once-in-a-lifetime event. Rob and Jim went for a practice round Friday and then we all went together for Sunday, which was supposed to be the final day (but as you know, Tiger won it in a sudden death round on Monday while all gimped out ALA Rob Warren, impressive!). Unfortunately they didn't allow cameras at the event, so here's a picture of us in the Qualcomm parking lot with our tickets...you'll just have to imagine us at the actual thing. If I was a major computer whiz, I'd somehow superimpose Tiger's picture with ours, but that ain't happening.

We had so much fun at the Open! We followed a friend of Steve's, Todd Hamilton, for a couple of holes in the early morning then planted ourselves in the grandstands at hole 5 and watched all the rest of the players come through. Once Tiger was finished, I thought (stupidly) we could make it to another hole to do the same thing but it was absolute chaos at that point. We watched a few more holes over people's shoulders in really thick crowds and eventually left about an hour before it was over. It was a really cool to see all these icons live and in person, I'm so glad we had this opportunity.

In addition to seeing golf live, there was also lots of being planted on the couch watching. Well, I should clarify, the guys were planted to the couch and Pam and I went for many walks and to the pool. ha! So, this was pretty much the view of the guys for 3 days straight. Notice how Galileo has to participate as well, who knew he was such a golf fan?

Whew- I got so far behind on blog-watching! I love love love all your posts, and we are jealous of the Open attendance!! We left town for a few days and my days before were spent prepping/baking etc., so that's why I'm behind. So now I'm looking at all and shall soon update mine. The joys of bloggetry!
