As we all know, I'm all about the birthday surprises. This year I surprised Rob with a getaway weekend to the Gaslamp, we stayed at the fancy-pants Omni Hotel that's connected to Petco Park. We hit a Padres game (and actually won in the bottom of the 9th, a freakin' miracle!), hung out at the Omni pool, and walked around the Gaslamp Quarter a bunch. It's always so fun to be a tourist in your own city, I think. 
Dorks at the game:
After the game we went to the "Tilted Kilt" for drinks (read: Scottish Hooters: girls that wear kilts the size of postage stamps) - wasn't exactly my thing but it was all about the birthday boy. Seriously, check out those skirts! Do their mothers approve?
Rob opened up all of his cards and presents at the hotel and his favorite one seemed to be from my Grandma Margaret. Enjoy!
We had dinner at this amazing restaurant Chive - the food was delicious! I'd definitely recommend it to any of you locals...and invite us with you, please. :)

Oops, and happy belated birthday Rob! I did think of you and tell my hubby it was lame (actually really lucky for you if you think about it)to have the Fantasy draft on your birthday. :-)
