Park City day 1

We just got home from skiing in Utah and we had SUCH an amazing time!!! We were both so blissed out, I think we had almost forgotten just how much we both love to ski. We had such a great weekend together, we were bummed out to come home.

The first day we skied Alta and were lucky enough to have about 5-8 inches of fresh powder! Here's our first lift up:

We mentioned avalanches in the video, they kept doing the avalanche explosions and it was hysterical - you'd be skiing along, all zen'd out and then KABLAAAAMO! But other than that, it was such a glorious day! Super sunshiny, blue skies everywhere, not a cloud in the sky!

We hadn't skied in several years and I was kinda nervous before heading down our first run, but I was amazed just how quickly it all came back in no time at all! We had such a blast, no injuries thank goodness although Rob took a good digger...and luckily it was captured on camera :) Excuse the shakiness at first...clearly I was cold.

A few more shots from the day:

I know I can't complain because my brother in Alaska just said it's negative 40 degrees there ( I mean seriously, how is that even possible???) but holy cow, once the sun went down, it got cold! It was about 12 degrees when we went out to eat in Park City, walking around town we were pretty frigid. Even though it was during the Sundance Film Festival, we lucked out by walking right in and getting a table at a great restaurant called High West Distillery and Brewery - delicious! I had a hearty mushroom soup that I wanted to essentially bathe in, it was so warm and delicious!

Afterwards, we high-tailed it back to the car, but of course I had to have a quickie pic with the Loosey the Moose. What a great first day!!!
