Floodageddon is no' mo'!!!

Whew, well THAT whole experience sure did suck.

A lot.

But, I am thrilled to announce that Floodageddon is finally over!  Last week they did the final repairs and we are over the moon!!!  When the last worker left, it was so incredibly quiet and Rob and I turned to each other, let out a huge sigh of relief and both had the biggest grins on our faces.

And everything is sooo beautiful!  It all looks like there was never a disaster and the new carpet is soooo gorgeous!!!  We went with a brown speckley one which is already so great with stains.  Of course Galileo chose to barf on it LITERALLY hours after they installed it, so um, thanks for that. 

 

 

 I mentioned before we swapped Rob's upstairs office downstairs (since it's cooler during the summer), and moved my piano upstairs - we turned it into a "library" and it is so incredibly cozy and I love it in there.  Playing piano there in there is now so calming and peaceful...happy place, happy place.

 Isn't it beautiful?  I know, I know, it's just a laundry room but trust me.  It beats the empty shell it's been for 2 months - concrete, no walls and dust galore.  Here's the new countertop and the sink that will not be named.  Needless to say, I'm never using THAT sucker again.

 One of the best things about the whole move-back-in process is I'm FINALLY all healed from my ear infection and I'm getting more energy back from my vertigo so it's perfect timing to be able to reorganize and put stuff back.  I've been organizing, purging stuff and donating old crap galore and it feels good.  I've found I can do little spurts of activity before I get dizzy and have to rest but at least I'm WAY more productive than I've been.  It feels so good to have a settled, clean house - woohooooo!!
