House update: we have floors!!!

Our good friends Jason and Tara joined us today at our house, and we were stoked!
So much had changed, especially since we were locked out last weekend and couldn't get inside. There are trees lined up and ready to be put in, not sure if they're for our front yard or the common greenway out front, but either way it's exciting and oh-so official to see greenery going in! Most importantly, we have hardwood floors! I'm not going to lie, I got a little misty-eyed seeing them, they're absolutely gorgeous! Obviously they're all dusty and dirty right now, but you get the drift. We picked a really dark, distressed wood so when Galileo gets his nightly zooms, he won't jack it up.
And, we have bathroom tile in all 3 bathrooms as well! Here's where the downstairs bathroom tile meets the hardwood flooring, so pretty.
Here's a shot of the hardwood flooring as it hits the kitchen tile, beautiful!
And we have bathroom sinks as well! Here's the powder room downstairs: Bathroom lighting is done too! And the shower doors are up: Here's me testing out our 2nd bathroom tile, it feels great on the feetsies!
Our lighting is all in too, craziness! Here's the entry light and chandelier: and dining room chandelier: It was fun showing the Tichy's our two favorite rooms, the closet: and our courtyard!

And holy crap, I LOVE LOVE LOVE our master bathroom! The tile is so freakin' beautiful: And the shower door and faucets are just stunning:
I would imagine by next week, they will have started some of the landscaping....get to work, guys, Rob will show you how it's done:
Here's a little preview of some of our new furniture too, we went and "visited" the floor model of our new couch this weekend as well to make sure our color scheme was cruising along - here's our couch color (different configuration than the one we've designed but you get the idea) with one of our curtains laid down on it up front, beautimous! And our bed:

And our outdoor couch, we also have 2 club chairs in a striped cushion pattern as well, they're so cool!

3 weeks to go!!!

It goes to 11

We're 11 years old! Yesterday we celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary - 11 years of wedded bliss. I am so insanely grateful for every moment we've had together thus far...we are so incredibly lucky to have found each other and to fall deeper in love every day. Thank you for an amazing journey so far to my best friend!!!

We went to fondue at the Melting Pot to celebrate, love that place.
Had ourselves a steamy facial:
All I'm going to say is: dessert was chocolate melted with a big ol' scoop of rich peanut butter. I think I just drooled just thinking about it.....slurp!

Love you babe!

Life's a beach!

While our friend Alex's parents were in town, we joined them and Karen's folks at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club for a fabulous beach day. Our weather this summer has been so bizarro - very cool and overcast most days at the coast, so we hit it on the most perfect and glorious sunny day!

Here's the Dads: Tim, Kraig and Alex.

The Moms: Gray and Linda

and Karen and Robbio:

and us!

Bennett had a fabulous time too, digging in the sand and playing in the kiddie pool. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed snack time just as much, these pictures are so darling!

All good times ahead...it's supposed to get warmer this weekend, in perfect timing for our 11th anniversary!!!!

House update: We have....disappointment :(

Well, the house visit yesterday certainly started out quite promising. Driving up, we were super stoked to see we had all sorts of hardscape in front, and it seems like they're working on the landscaping, or at least the sprinkler system. Check it out, we have an honest to goodness driveway! We have some stairs going up the sidewalk to the front door, pretty cool!
And also some concrete on the front porch.
Look, we have fences! The gate is on the east side of the house, where the trash cans will likely be kept.

Strangely, we have no gate at the front door, I guess for safety or something.
We also have a big ol' A/C unit: We were also excited to see we have the outside coach lights up, a few in front, and a few in back, they're beautiful!!!
Added bonus, a new gorgeous address plate as well!
And the piece de la resistance...our courtyard concrete is done! woohoooo!!! All the concrete is a pretty brownish redish color, it's cool.A fun addition to the day...Karen, Alex and Bob the Builder aka Bennett and our surrogate parents, Tim and Linda joined us for a peek at the house....and that's when the big wah wah happened.

WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR HOUSE!

The sales people did their best to try to get us in but for some reason, their keys weren't working. No one knew if the head contractor changed the locks, or the keys weren't properly matched, but we never got in!Our guests rolled with the punches and peeked in all the windows to get an idea of the place.
And we waited, and waited.Bennett rang the new doorbell (!) but unfortunately, no one was home to let us in. :(We did break into the garage (hey, don't judge: it's ours, dangit!) and saw we now have the tankless hot water heater.poo!!! I even glimpsed our chandeliers inside, dangit....but I guess we have to wait until next weekend! Wah wah wah....Hey Rob, tell us how you feel about this situation:
Sorry folks, park's closed!
