Snow Days!!

Last weekend, our neighborhood's association had a snow days party and it was so freakin' fun.  Only in San Diego, I know, I know, but they trucked in a ton of fake snow and provided sledding, hot chocolate and food trucks in one of our neighborhood's parks.  We went with our little neighbor buddies and I had so much fun, I was actually super bummed when they had to go home for their naps.  I'm honored to say riding the slide with Ms. Beth was the hot ticket, ha!

Here's Mason, Carson and Mackie on the first run hitting the grass.

Carson's face in this is priceless wailing the whole time
And Mackie and I were off!!!  It's funny, it was 80 degrees when we first started so we were all wearing short sleeves and some people were wearing shorts (the kiddos all had rubber rain boots on, ha!!)
Dylan and Dillon, brave and going backwards
 Round 2...

 Snack break

 Food truck time!!

And then it's back on the slopes!!!

This is my favorite pick of the day - those are 3 happy faces right there!!!
And this cracked me up, I said "let's make funny faces" and Dylan spits...haha!
Man, I love my little buddies.
Here's a vid my neighbor took, can't really say who's screaming louder - me, or the kids.

Cutie little baby buddies!!!

Our good friends Jason and Lisa had their sweet baby girl Reagan in December and we were so lucky to meet our new little buddy in January though I've been such a slacker about getting the photos up until now.

She is so incredibly precious and was so sweet - she slept almost the whole time so we got to oogle at her to our hearts' content - isn't she amazing?

I love her little face in this one, she sure is thinking hard!!

Laughing at something Uncle Rob said...

Little Max is still their sweet baby boy - he's so cute too...love him.

At one point Reagan woke up and entertained us all with her adorable faces...so dang funny!!!

A few weeks later my sweet friend Sara came over and brought her darling little baby Cecilia who is now almost 3 months old - she is sooo sweet.  We had such a fun girls day hanging out the 3 of us, catching up.  Cecilia is so precious.

This last series CRACKS me up!  Apparently too much loving from Auntie Beth leads to barfing'...you've been warned.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

ROW - the White Bean Rosemary Puree Edition

The other day I made this new recipe - taken from People magazine of course - (my source of ALL info) - and I tweaked it a bit so that it wouldn't give you a heart attack.  Good lord it calls for a lot of olive oil, I think it's intended to be like a pesto spread kind of a situation, but I quadrupled the recipe and cut the oil by a fourth which made it more of a mashed potato consistency.  Not going to lie, it totally killed my food processor, but it was on its way out anyway.  RIP.

It was super duper delicious, I served it as a side at our friend's house with grilled brussel sprouts - they had made steak so everything went perfectly together...like us!

The food critics at the table gave it a "this is some creamy rosemary goodness" mouthful up!

And now for something completely different part deux

So, remember that hilarious "map" of San Diego?  I saw one of California on Facebook this week too and it cracked me up.  Not as funny as the San Diego one, but I think my favorite is "he he butt".

Floodageddon is no' mo'!!!

Whew, well THAT whole experience sure did suck.

A lot.

But, I am thrilled to announce that Floodageddon is finally over!  Last week they did the final repairs and we are over the moon!!!  When the last worker left, it was so incredibly quiet and Rob and I turned to each other, let out a huge sigh of relief and both had the biggest grins on our faces.

And everything is sooo beautiful!  It all looks like there was never a disaster and the new carpet is soooo gorgeous!!!  We went with a brown speckley one which is already so great with stains.  Of course Galileo chose to barf on it LITERALLY hours after they installed it, so um, thanks for that.

I mentioned before we swapped Rob's upstairs office downstairs (since it's cooler during the summer), and moved my piano upstairs - we turned it into a "library" and it is so incredibly cozy and I love it in there.  Playing piano there in there is now so calming and peaceful...happy place, happy place.

Here's a shot of the Master Bedroom:

 Spare bedroom:

And finally, the scene of the crime, the laundry room:
Isn't it beautiful?  I know, I know, it's just a laundry room but trust me.  It beats the empty shell it's been for 2 months - concrete, no walls and dust galore.  Here's the new countertop and the sink that will not be named.  Needless to say, I'm never using THAT sucker again.
Here's a shot of the loft:
And our closet: (no changes here, just wanted to show how pretty the carpet is everywhere!!)
 Hallway:
One of the best things about the whole move-back-in process is I'm FINALLY all healed from my ear infection and I'm getting more energy back from my vertigo so it's perfect timing to be able to reorganize and put stuff back.  I've been organizing, purging stuff and donating old crap galore and it feels good.  I've found I can do little spurts of activity before I get dizzy and have to rest but at least I'm WAY more productive than I've been.  It feels so good to have a settled, clean house - woohooooo!!
