We kept hearing about this big ol' blizzard that was supposed to hit the state that week, so of course we had to mock it when we landed and this was the only patch of ice/snow on the ground. Clearly I angered the weather gods because it absolutely DUMPED on us as we left a few days later. BTW, am I the only one who gets creeped out by the whole de-icing the plane situation? I truly do feel like a big ol' snow cone. And not in a delicious way. Is it natural to get a big ol' hunk of metal hurtling up into the sky if it's frozen solid? I'm thinking no. Anyhoo.
The first night we hung out with Dad and Patti (not pictured here, so sorry Patti!!!) and their sweet, hardworking caregiver - now part of our family - Ken. You'll probably never get a photo of Ken, he's always moving so fast and working so hard, he's like a hummingbird. A photo of him would probably turn out blurry. Anyway, it was so lovely to see those 3 and just stay up late chatting. Love them.
And the next day we hung out with Robbio's Dad - we had such a sweet day, looking through old photos and chatting about memories, hearing him tell old stories, etc. It was nice to see him and his pooches. As an added bonus, on the way out of the Springs, we swung by and go to see our buddies the Hoeltings! We sure do adore them and their 3 kiddos Amanda, Zach and Morgan plus we got the great news that they're coming out to see us in June!!!
On Saturday, we met up with our buddies from CSU, Jen and Alex, and Chris Carolyn and their adorable kiddos Ashlyn and Alyssa for brunch at Snooze. I really should have worn my fat pants, that place is legit! We had such a great time catching up...
And then later that same day, we caught up with our friend Jody who had moved from San Diego to Colorado with her hubby Joe and then had a precious baby girl. Ironically our friend Julie (from San Diego) was also here visiting with her daughter Paige and we got to catch up with their friends too so it was a day o' reunions...
That night we spend with my good friend Nicole and her hubbs Chad and their precious daughters Karaline and Kendall. We had so much fun hanging with our buddies Karaline (we had a sticker and funny face party) and getting to know our new little buddy Kendall. So sweet, we were so sad to leave them the next day.
sticker party!
dog pile, no really.
The next day was family time with the J's - always so good for the soul to be with my fam.
The April birthday girls:
Look at my beautiful Grandma - isn't she such a sharp dresser? Adore her...
And then last but not least, we spent time with our Prings! Always so good to see Jeff, Judi, Owen and Willett. Love those four with all our hearts. I just realized it's like Monty Python...Sir Jeff and Judi do not appear in these photos...
but here's our buddies Willett and Owen.
As always, we had an amazing trip and it went WAY too fast. Every time I leave Colorado I get so sad and feel like half my heart is left behind. But it did us so much good to go, and I'm hopeful the next time we go I'll feel more like myself and won't be dizzy and on meds the whole time, haha!
