Only 7 months late...it's a record!

So, I was not a blogger back in October. Had I been, you would have been incredibly up to date on the fires and our home remodel. So, I need to take you back in time to October for some really funny pictures from our Magic Mountain weekend with some friends. MM is way far from us, so we really have only gone 2 or 3 times since we've moved here, but it is so much fun. They had a ride this time around that was new to us - the Goliath.

Now, I'm a fan of your standard roller coasters but I am kinda a wuss when it comes to anything beyond your average thrill ride. And this thing is enormous! You see it from the highway from MILES away, that's how flippin' tall it is. And apparently, it's beat some kinda of records for tallest drop in North America or some crap. In other words, NOT a ride I would normally like. Seriously, the drop is like straight down. FOREVER, it even goes under ground just to really mess with you.
So, I promptly decided upon getting to MM that I would NOT be riding that ride, thankyouverymuch. But as you can imagine, I'm a pushover and didn't want to be a weenie and sit and wait for everyone else while they rode it. So...I sucked it up and went.
I'll spare you the horrible details but let's just say I was so petrified standing in line that I actually started to cry! How pathetic!!! I really was panicking, but again, couldn't quit without doing it. So, I did. Here's a youtube video I found of the actual ride. Even watching it again made my palms sweat. Don't watch this while eating lunch, FYI.
The first drop alone is something like 8 GOD AWFUL SECONDS OF YOUR LIFE but I survived. Here's a fabulous photo of our first ride around. Notice Rob looks like a pirate and our friends Dave and Marley are having a blast. And what about me? I look like Igor! Brains!! And what's with my hoodie all pulled tight like it would protect me? It was worth the 10 bucks to buy this picture, it's so damn funny.

And then, like the glutton for punishment that I am, I went back on it to show it who's boss. And I tried to fake it for the photo the second time around and look a little less petrified. Only a little. Again, Rob looks like a pirate, and Leigh and Kevin are having the time of their lives.

After that nonsense, I earned a treat and ate the biggest chocolate covered banana I've ever seen. I love Rob's scandalized face while Kevin looks on in interest..

Here's Marley wearing some moose antler straws. What else would you expect?

And me with the moose antler straw & hat...you can never have too many antler accessories, I say.

okay, I am laughing hysterically! You are far braver than I - if I can see what the roller coaster is going to do, with loop-de-loops etc, you won't get me on it. I do love the Aerosmith roller coaster at Disney World because it's all in the dark and I can trick my wuss-ness into thinking it doesn't go upside down. I know, I'm a baby. I love those pictures on the coaster - I would have bought them too!!
