Every year in San Diego there is an "international" (which I think just means: "near the border") sandcastle competition that's pretty phenomenal. There's contests of individual, 3 and 10 people teams and they make some pretty amazing sculptures that put our old puny sandcastles to shame. It's especially amazing when you consider these are created in just 4 hours! Rob and I headed down there yesterday and braved the heat and crowds to enjoy. Here's a few highlights of my favorites:
This one reads: open your imagination. It's hard to see, but there's a huge zipper opening the people's minds and on the other side were peace flowers, it was cool!
At the very end of walking the length of the beach we were wicked hot and just so happened across an old ice cream truck - bonus!
