Broncos, baby!

We were in Colorado last weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday and, as always, had such an amazing time visiting everybody. It was truly a special holiday jam-packed with goodness and it started off with a bang!

We got up at 3:30 AM, YES, 3:30 AM (who knew 3:30 came around more than once a day?) but after an emergency session at the Almighty Airport Starbucks, all was right with the world. We got to Denver around noon and had Thanksgiving "linner" with all the fam - unfortunately I totally spaced on taking pictures, so you'll just have to imagine all the merriment and stuffing of one's faces. Can I hear an amen for stretchy pants?

And then we were off to the Broncos/Giants game! We were so excited, it had been several years since we'd been able to go to a Broncos home game - and it was oh-so-refreshing to be around "our people" - Orange and Blue galore!Patti had been so sweet to get us Broncos scarves since, let's face it, we're weather weenies at this point and the game was at night. In November. Have I mentioned we live in California? Brrrrrr!!! I know it looks like we're about to wage a Bronco Jihad, but really, we're just super prepared for the cold.
We met up for a Thanksgiving tailgate with Nicole and Chad, and Pat and Deena - great friends who we had missed terribly. Here's Chad, me, and Nicole grubbing down:

Here's the gang:
You'll notice we get more and more bundled as it gets darker. We lucked out and had the most glorious sunny Colorado winter day that was actually fairly warm...but as soon as the sun went down and the wind started kicking up...it got super cold super fast!Nothing says Thanksgiving like Orange and Blue jello shots, wasn't that part of the original Pilgrim feast?:
Up in the stadium:

Hanging out with Meg and Bill:We were right behind the Broncos Jester - apparently the infamous Jester...he was hysterical, though, and had team spirit for days. Of course we had to grab a pic with him before we left.
And go Broncos, we freakin' won! Thank goodness we broke that 4 game losing streak, whew! What an amazing game.....stay tuned for the rest of our trip.
