City slickers...no, seriously

We were in Nebraska last weekend for Rob's Mom's wedding reception - Ruth and Bill got married in March and threw their big wedding reception now for all their friends and family to attend. It was a great excuse to fly out to Nebraska and see some of Rob's extended family, we hadn't been there in several years and it was wonderful to see them again.

Flying out, the obligatory self photo, I think we have this same shot in these exact same chairs at the airport now for at least 3 different trips!

The reception was nice to see Ruth and Bill be surrounded by so much love and support. Pam and I were put to work as the drink servers, I think there's been no better waitresses in the history of waitressing. We can pour a mean punch bowl, you know. Some random shots of the reception:

Cousins Becky and Ben and an oh-so enthusiastic about the photo op, Caleb

During the weekend, there was plenty of hanging out,

The guys: Rob's brother Steve, Uncle Lee, Bill, Uncle Ray and Robbio of course

the girls: cousin Cindy, Pam and Moi:
Bill and Ruth's house:

playing with the kiddos

and plenty of farm looky-loo'ing...

I even got to "help" feed some pigs! And by "help", I mean hold a bucket, take a bunch of pictures, block a sheep from running out of the pen and keep a running commentary on how disgusting pigs are to eat out of the same place they pee. Yup, keep that in mind next time you dig into some bacon (of which I have sworn off for a while in solidarity of Grady's pigs Wilbur and Charlotte who will be sold shortly...and I refuse to think what happens to them next).

Grady is one of our new nephews, Bill's grandsons, and he's way into farming - he seems like a natural already. Jet and Quinn were also lovely assistants coming with us to the pigs. Nice photo bomb, Rob!
Pam and I had to wear these huge boots of Bill's because let's be honest, the mud around pig pens is not to be reckoned with in flip flops. Here's us doing our boot dance:

I ALWAYS love riding all the farm equipment when we visit Nebraska, it's all so foreign to me and such a blast to play on. Probably wouldn't be a blast if you had to use it to work every day, but that's exactly why it's fun for me. Not too often you use a 4Wheeler or Gator in therapy :)

Cutie pies Megan and Caleb on THEIR 4Wheeler (wouldn't you have died to have something like this when you were little?), I love how Lee and Pam come screaming by on the adult version at the end:

The whole fam:
Good times!!!
