We got engaged back in 1998 - we had gone to Steamboat for a fun spring skiing getaway weekend but unfortunately it rained so we didn't do any skiing after all. Little did I know, that Rob's plan was to propose to me on the top of the mountain...but he had to quickly improvise when the plan got scrapped because of the weather and on our last day, we were heading home. As we were heading back down to Ft. Collins and he knew my friends and family were "in the know" about the engagement, he had to act fast. Rob ended up having us pull over along the Poudre Canyon and proposed to me...quite near a porta-potty... thus forever know as the Porta-Potty Proposal! It surprised the heck out of me, and needless to say, I boohoo'd and said yes!!!
It's been 10 years since we've been married and I can honestly say I love Rob more every day then the day before. I would marry him again in a heartbeat. He is my entire world, my everything, and my best friend. He has the best sense of humor more than anyone I know, he is the most genuinely sweet and kind man, and I trust him completely with my whole heart. These 10 years have absolutely FLOWN by and when I look back on it, the years are literally packed with amazing and cherished moments. We are beyond blessed.
Here's a picture we snapped down the mountain from where we got engaged...at a quirky weirdo placed known as the "Toilet-tree", get it? Hysterical - only we could have this as our first engagement picture. (and can you just die with the 90's tree-hugger outdoorsy look we're both sporting?) Thank God I found my inner princess along the way and actually LOVE getting foofed up now...and the birks have long been buried. RIP, Birkenstocks, RIP. Go smell patchouli somewhere else.
I love you, Rob! Here's to the next 10, 20, hopefully 50 more years of Warrenski love!!!
