Vegas night #1

Last Friday was finally here! We drove out with a caravan of friends to Vegas to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and met up with a bunch of people there. Man, we have been looking forward to this date forever. We've literally been scheming to do this for YEARS and were so excited it was finally here!

We stopped for a few coffee and greasy hamburger pit stops along the way...

and listened to some great tunes and had some awesome road trip chats with our good friends Karen and Alex. Already we were gearing up for the 10 year celebration!

Once we got checked in, we had a surprise of a lifetime - our good friends Jeff and Judi - who we were so incredibly bummed they were unable to come because they had just had a baby - were there in our hotel lobby! They had rallied and had Jeff's Dad with them to watch their kids so they could come out and play with us. We were absolutely floored by their presence...and were more than a little humored at Jeff's mullet and white trash costume (it was pretty hysterical, our Cali friends that didn't know him were a little sketched out until they figured out it was not his real look).

The Trump really did us right, and they were kind enough to upgrade us to a big ol' suite which was perfect for entertaining. We hosted a cocktail hour (or 2, heh heh) in our room before dinner so everybody could get really liquored up. No! I mean, so that everybody could meet and mingle before dinner. Yah, that's the story we're going with.

It was so fantastic to see everybody and have our two worlds of Colorado and California meet - everyone got along famously all weekend long and it was such an amazing feeling to be surrounded by all that love. There were 29 of us total, an absolutely huge response! People came from all over including my good friend Heather who lives in the Bay Area (we used to work together at Scripps):

After cocktail hour we had a delicious dinner at the Trump. The staff were so amazing to us and we had a whole private dining room to ourselves. The service and food were fantastic and we all had a blast! Rob and I gave a toast at one point, and I'm sure this is going to shock you...I might have boohoo'd through my portion. :) I just became so overwhelmed looking out at that huge room absolutely filled with our dear friends. I am constantly reminded how incredibly blessed we are - our lives are so rich with love. Despite the temporary boohoo'in, we clearly still managed to have a great time.
