The next day was the official move day when the professional movers brought the big
ol' truck and all of our stuff from storage. I tell you what, it's been like Christmas being able to unwrap all of our old stuff that we'd forgotten about and done without for the past 8 months. Many a time was overheard at the rental, "where is ______? Oh crap, packed!". I was stoked to again use my Rob as Nacho
Libre mug

and G was super happy to unpack his Buddy:
Anyhoo, Rob was fresh as a daisy after his own move day and softball game and I was starting to feel a bit better, plus it was our official first day in our house!!! The movers came promptly in the morning:

it's kind of like a
where's waldo situation trying to find G in this picture by the way:

followed by the furniture delivery of our big
ol' gorgeous custom made couch, ottoman and console:

I puttered and unpacked and did contact paper, window shades, etc while Rob did the heavy stuff.

G did more quality-control and supervised my contact paper skills.

Rob was as excited as a little kid when the TV got delivered, he's been waiting for that thing forever! I might have inwardly cried a little bit at it's gargantuan-
ness, I swear we now have
elephantitis of the TV, but it makes it easy to see Matt
Lauer in the morning as I cook my eggs, so I can't complain.

It was the best, our friends Aaron and Mo (aka our first official house guests) brought us by food that night and helped us unpack - they were amazing. I swear, if it weren't for them, we wouldn't have eaten that day and I definitely wouldn't have powered through all those kitchen boxes in a day.

The first official morning in the new house, eating breakfast out on the courtyard - I LOVE IT HERE!!!!!

After that, the days kinda blend. A dude came to cut in the doggy door:

The painters came and powered through the house - they were incredible!

More friends came and brought us food, thank goodness!

Tara and Jason were awesome, they helped so much - Jason was Rob's lovely assistant hanging the ceiling fans - Rob hung 6, count 'em
6 ceiling fans in total and 2 pendant lights (and no trips to the ED with electrical burns!)

(although I guess you get what you pay for labor-wise, slacker sleeping on the job!)

I unpacked our beautiful huge closet - quite a feat, but all worth it!

Meanwhile, G ate a bone.

Rob put together the beautiful new bed in what ended up being a HUGE marathon of a frustration-fest. It was approaching midnight, we were both exhausted, and what is now a hysterical moment, but at the time was more of a
Defcon-5 moment, I went to put the newly washed brand new sheets on the bed, ready to pass out exhausted on top of them, and realized Macy's had sold us a Queen fitted sheet in a Cal King package #$%$&^!!&^! It was a low moment, for sure, but we just were so tired, we didn't care, and slept on the mattress pad, ha!

I do LOVE our bedroom furniture though, it's so beautiful in there!

I did some crazy gardening and put down wood chips around the grill and courtyard, which has totally helped keep down the dust-factor from all our dirt back there. It was fun to do some basic planting, too, I'd missed having a yard!

G supervised from inside:

...and then, when you drove back to Macy's to return the Queen fitted sheet and they gave you the wrong color in a King size, but you didn't notice until you got all the way back home...that was AWESOME!!
Looks awesome guys! Can't wait to see it in person!
The place looks great. Love the colors! JPP
