Happy Campers!

We went camping over last weekend in Idyllwild for our friend Jason's birthday, our 2nd annual camping trip with those guys. I'm not going to lie, at first neither of us really wanted to leave our new house but of course I'm so glad we went, we had an absolute blast!

I had a last minute boo-hoo panic about leaving Galileo after the rough few months he's had of lots o' change, so at the very last second we decided to take him with us. I'm so glad we did, he seemed to really enjoy himself and was fully a wild Bichon of the mountains.
Camping Grover had to come with us as well. Don't be judging, he's a good camping buddy. We had a great drive up through the mountains and had to stop at the usual little general store we always do - love me some wood bear!
Well, YOUR bad at grammar!
The weather was glorious, only rained on us for about 10 minutes when we first got there...thus we set up the big mama tent over a picnic table...and then never used it again. :)
As usual, while we schlepped and put up tents and unpacked, Galileo supervised. What he does best. Then we did what WE do best: a whole lot of sitting around, boozing and chatting it up.
And maybe a little of nature thrown in, too.

There was definitely no danger of starving to death on our camping weekend - we all brought our A games with some rockin' food, but Randy always takes the cake - he's the master camping chef, no weenies on sticks here!

As Kevin likes to point out, just how many photos of Galileo DO we have?

The answer: never enough, Kev, never enough.
We had some excellent laziness...
and for a few hours rallied and walked into town....for some bloody mary's and photo cut out opportunities, of course. You tell me, would there be an authentic nature experience without those? :)Some campfire goodness:

The drive home was glorious! The fog had rolled in and the fall colors were en fuego - quite a combination....my hand was about to freeze off holding the camera out the window while Rob drove. Art on the go, yo.

And we're home! What is it about camping that's almost more exhausting to come home and clean up afterwards? Almost more tiring than the camping itself!
