Nates Butt Farm!

(or Bates Nutt Farm, but I dare you to try to say it the right way once someone has planted the "butt farm" seed in your brain). I don't know how we do it, but this is the 2nd year we managed to pick the hottest day of the year. Man, it's hard to get into the fall frame of mind when you're roasting in the mid-90's, but still, we still had a nice day together.Apparently, one must wear orange when going to a pumpkin patch. I'll teach you the secret orange handshake later. By the way, I ditched the sweater immediately after the photo op.

We had a nice picnic in the shade, finished by some shaved ice's - slurp! I'm amazed we didn't walk away with ti-died shirts after that, but apparently Tara and I are able to prevent drippage.Showing off red icee tongues: Some of the crew did the hay bale maze, I was the designated "sit in the shade and photograph lazily" gal.
The kids loved petting a huge great Dane, he was super patient. And they're off! It was fun to see the kids having so much fun with the pumpkins. I love the rule that was concocted: you can only get a pumpkin big enough that you can still carry. Didn't stop them from trying some big ones, though!
Tanner, Audrey and Bennett were so cute, they were so into it. Bennett kept wandering around saying "there's pumpking EVERYWHERE!!!!" but then of course, when I turned the video camera on, he stopped, so this was a little coached (but still freakin' adorable).

The standard family shots:
And then the not-so standard shots:

The loot! apparently it takes a village to escort the pumpkins to the car.
Fun day but I'm not going to lie, one of my favorite parts was cranking the A/C on the way home at the end. You know it's hot when I don't even put my car's top down, we were melting!
