Day 2 was just as lovely wandering around Manhattan.
I started off at Rockefeller Center and I have a disclaimer. From the judgementville throne of my couch, I always think people standing behind the Today Show anchors waving like jackasses are so lame, but I tell you what, when you walk behind the anchors, I swear, your body gets taken over like invasion of the body snatchers-style. I became THAT girl, and was the smiling, waving, photo-taking jackass immediately. The funniest was as I started to take a pic of Kathie Lee and Hoda, a cop yelled at me that I was about to get run over by a cherry picker hauling butt down the sidewalk, so my 15 minutes of fame is sadly shortened to about 2 seconds.
Here's the clip in all it's glory, I walk in from the left towards the end at 3:27, take a photo and then get yelled at just to the right of Kathie Lee so I skeedaddle. Too bad they cut away before they show me having to dodge a cherry picker, that would have made for good TV.
So then I headed across the street to the NBC Experience Store where I made out with Matt Lauer. For real.
Or in my dreams, whatever. Same diff.
But then I hear from one of the employees that Kathie Lee is coming over there for a segment, so the guy gets me in the back (it's handy being tall). Ironically, though, I get yelled at AGAIN for accidentally letting my flash go off on my phone camera. Oops! I'm such a trouble maker!
At 1:24 (on the far right) is where I get yelled at with my cell phone, oopsies! Then, you can see me at 1:47, 2:47 and 3:40. Big props to my friend Carolyn who found these for me - you rule!!!
And then after all my famous-ness, I had to stick around for a bit of Access Hollywood Live. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find this on the interwebs, I only stuck around for the first 10 minutes or so and it doesn't seem like they replay that, but you can see me right in the middle there taking a pic of myself. YUP, I'm that dork. So much fun!!!!! (btw if anyone can find the first 10 minutes of Access Hollywood Live from that day, October 24th, you will forever be my favorite). I'm sure it's a fascinating clip of me standing there like a big dork waving and smiling and checking myself out in the TV screen the whole time.
After that, it was onward through St. Patrick's - gorgeous!
My Grandma would be so proud, she's been praying to St. Jude for me constantly so I will be healed from this stupid vertigo, so while I was there I lit at a candle at his altar and prayed a bunch myself. I thought a lot about you there, Grandma - I love you so much, and I so appreciate all of your prayers and thoughts. You're absolutely the best and I love your kind heart. You were with me that day!!!
And then it was on to the Moma for some more wandering - I absolutely love it there!
Love love love Van Gogh's Starry Night
This feature was so fun, I was channeling my inner Lily Tomlin here...
And then I dug into some pizza...and YUP, I was taking a pic of myself while eating...by myself....that's how you blend in in New York, people.
And then my absolute favorite place - Tiffany's!!! I spent over an hour here, wandering around, I freakin' love it here.
This necklace was something crazy like 2.5 million dollars so I sent Rob a text telling him I accidentally bought it while I was there, ha!
What a fun, chill day of walking my BUTT off. We ended the night with a nice dinner with Rob's coworkers, it was so sweet they included me so I didn't sit all by myself alone in the hotel. It was cool to meet them.
And here's all my photos from day 2 if interested in the slideshow:
